Our Campground at Mt Anderson
Our campground at Mt Anderson Station is situated adjacent to the old homestead and in the shadows of majestic Mt Anderson. Facilities include shower and toilets with an undercover eating/cooking area. A campfire area specifically designed for community cooking and later for story telling by the Jarlmadangah Community members.
You have the opportunity to walk the track up Mt Anderson guided or unguided. A fee is charged for a guide who will provide an insight to the history of their ancestral lands.
A visit to Jarlmadangah and the Culture Art Centre is a must. This will give you opportunity to observe local artists at work. The community has a school, store and diesel fuel available.
Enjoy camping at Mt Anderson campground in the shadows of Mt Anderson and in the evening watch the colours change as the sun sets over the rugged ranges and rocky outcrops. Experience the freedom and exhilaration of our star-lit sky sitting around our campfire before settling into your swag to sleep in a ten-thousand star hotel.
Camping at Mt Anderson gives you the opportunity to listen to stories of the Aboriginal dreamtime around the campfire and discover the relationship between Aboriginal spirituality and nature. Follow the walking trail up Mt Anderson ,visit the caves and rock paintings which tell stories of ancient times.
